Friends,
As most of you know by now, we lost a dear friend this weekend. Mike Harris passed away after the plane he was in crashed on Saturday. The details are very sketchy right now as to who was flying Mike's plane or what happened at the time of the crash but both Mike and his passenger died in the crash.

Alert: Schedule Change For AWSA Nationals

Bob Mayhew, chief judge of the 67th GOODE Water Ski National Championships, has announced that there has been a revision to the schedule of events. The revision is for the events scheduled for the Turnpike Slalom Lake on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The schedule currently calls for Boys 1 to start the day, followed by Girls 2 and Women 2. The revision is for Girls 2 to start the day, followed by Boys 1 and Women 2. Mayhew noted that a few Boys 1 slalom skiers may be jumping in the Boys 2 division and, without the change, there could have been a conflict with the schedule.
Girls 2 slalom is now the first event of the day on the Turnpike Slalom Lake at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Boys 1 slalom and Women 2 slalom will follow. To view the complete, revised schedule (revised as of July 8, 2009), click here (PDF).

The 67th GOODE Water Ski National Championships will take place Aug. 11-15 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla. To register, click here.

The reports for the 2009 Summer AWSA Board of Directors Meeting are now available and include the minutes of the 2009 AWSA Winter Board of Directors Meeting, Treasurer's Report and committee reports.
